Kashi* Toffee Crispy Recipe
By caramelizing tahini, rice syrup, raisins, and vanilla, you get a sweet and salty toffee that provides the perfect balance for a Kashi* Honey Puffed Grains Cereal base. Share this special treat during the holidays.
Makes 16 squares
1 tablespoon expeller-pressed canola oil
2 tablespoons sesame tahini paste
¾ cup brown rice syrup or barley malt
pinch of sea salt
½–¾ cup organic raisins
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3 cups Kashi* Honey Puffed Grains Cereal
1. Lightly oil a shallow 8-inch square baking pan.
2. In a large saucepan, mix tahini and oil together. Add rice syrup or barley malt and salt, beat together and stir in raisins. Bring to a boil over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring continuously. Stir in vanilla.
3. Remove from heat, and stir in Kashi* Honey Puffed Grains Cereal, making sure it is well coated with the syrupy toffee. Press into the oiled pan. Let cool. Cut into 16 squares and serve.
